You can row!

Open row times are available for you to give rowing a try!

Everyone is welcome, regardless of age or athletic ability, although minors will need a parent/guardian to sign the required waiver.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings at 6:15 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. are the Open Row times. You should arrive a few minutes early. Each row lasts an hour. You’ll be required to sign a waiver before stepping in the boat. You can row four times at no cost. If you enjoy rowing and want to continue, you would need to join SOMIRA.

We park our cars in the lot between Zio Fraedo’s restaurant and meet at Vallejo Boat Works:

1 Harbor Way, Vallejo, CA 94590

You should wear comfortable, athletic style clothing, and bring along a bottle of water. It’s a good idea to wear a hat or visor and wear sunscreen when needed. Most rowers wear the weight-lifting type gloves with the fingertips cut off, but full gloves are fine. Some rowers use cushions on the seats. A chair pillow or kneeling pad can be secured to the seat with shoelaces or bungee cords to provide cushioning.

Most of us hang out on the steps of the Vallejo Boat Works while waiting for rowing time. We’re a friendly bunch, so don’t hesitate to approach and introduce yourself as a newcomer. You’ll get plenty of help.
