SOMIRA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which means that your donation is tax deductible. Donation funds are used to:
- Raise awareness of local maritime history among the general populace
- Assist in hosting the Vallejo Waterfront Weekend Regatta
- Assist in the annual Charity Row
- Foster local, regional, national and international amateur rowing competition
- Maintaining and berthing wooden and fiberglass whaleboats
- Organizing and participating in events that support/help rebuild the community
