Whaleboat History Requested

Any pictorial or oral history that has anything to do with whaleboats in this area:

• Building of whaleboats

• Training in whaleboats - California Maritime Academy, Navy, Merchant Marine

• Racing whaleboats

• Repairing whaleboats

We're collecting any images or stories we can from the local community to help in our efforts to preserve the history of whaleboats.

Note that our type of "whaleboat" might also be called a monomoy, life boat, or a surf boat.
